For Isagenix call 954-608-9923. Its mid-April, tax time again. Even if you are filing an extension, like I did for my Isagenix business, if you owe the IRS any money, it is due this week.
Taxes can be a huge burden if you have not planned and paid them throughout the year. Many businesses are so busy in this rebounding economy that they may not be paying enough in quarterly payments. Businesses here in South Florida can learn more about paying their quarterly payments at http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/Estimated-Taxes.
Many individuals may be surprised at what they will end up owing the IRS. If they received a windfall such as a bonus from their employer during the year, they may have forgotten to pay taxes on it. Many people forget to change their deductions when there is a change in family status such as the kids growing up and moving away.
No matter if you are faced with a business or individual tax bill, an option may be to pay your tax bill with a credit card. According to Julie Myhre, a NextAdvisor.com editor, there are some attractive options. Her full article can be found at http://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/how-to/growth-strategies/2014/04/2-reasons-to-use-credit-cards-to-pay-your-taxes.html?page=all .
Thanks to low interest rates these days, you may be able to avoid paying the IRS interest by using a zero interest credit card such as U.S. Bank Business Cash Rewards or the Citi Simplicity Card. This way you are making payments to the credit card companies instead of the IRS, which is mentally less “taxing” as well.
For those of us who receive a 1099, we are totally responsible for making estimated quarterly payments to the IRS on our own. I advise making payments throughout the year to not only avoid the shock of the total payment, but the penalties you may incur if you don’t make those quarterly payments. An accountant can help you estimate your quarterly payments.
The IRS provides an online payment calculator if you would like to estimate on your own. You can use this website – http://apps.irs.gov/app/withholdingcalculator/
You can read my story about why I have chosen to be a 1099 person rather than a W-2 at http://www.cleanseandweightloss.com/why-isagenix/ .
Keep in mind that owing the IRS is more serious than owing other debts. They can put a lien on your house, your bank accounts, or even throw you in jail for not paying your taxes. Even though they are the “new, nicer IRS” (which they are, actually), when it comes to owing them money, you want to take them seriously.
